City Crafter Challenge, Back to the Basics

This is a new blog I found and I can tell I am going to be hooked!  I found this challenge when I had seen a friend (Cindy Leek) enter into the previous challenge.  You can go to her blog by clicking Papers Pads and Pictures she always has something great to share and she also has fun challenges!  At City Crafter Challenge Blog I found this great challenge called "Back to the Basics"  The challenge this week she asked that we go Back to Basics and make a card or project that includes Paint ... acrylic, watercolour ... whatever you like And some Recycled Cardboard.
So... That's exactly what I did with this card

                                         CCCB#59
On this card I used my Cricut Cartridges "Just Because Cards" for the tree, I just cut it out on basic white card stock then traced the image onto cardboard did the same for the log but used my cartridge "Create-a-Critter" for the log image.  For the apples I just cut out the same tree from "Just Because Cards" just put the back shadow through my larger oxyron sticker maker, applied the top layer then added flock where the apples were.  The clouds I used "Paper Pups" then inked the edges with Stampin Up ink Sky Blue.  The Thank You sentiment I used Stampin Up's "Thank You Kindly" stamp set, the ink Stampin Up Classic Red.  The owl I used Stampin Ups Owl Punch, for the belly of it I put it though my oxyron mini sticker maker then applied flock to it.  The grass was left over from my Easter Cards that I had made, I used my cartridge "Soccer" to make the grass.  For the back ground I used my water color crayons then blended with water, allowed to dry then added Rangers Crackle Distress Paint in Rock Candy.   This is the last week of school for my son and it's a bit heartbreaking, this was his first year of school and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher so this will be one of the seven cards going to wonderful Mrs. Shannon Brooks.

Thanks for visiting my blog and becoming a follower. I'm so glad you found CCCB... it's my very favorite of all the challenge blogs.
I see you live at Fort Bragg. My husband and I did also 45 years ago (wow, does that sound weird). We've been back for visits several times... love NC.
Your card is just too cute... love your owl and tree. Adorable!
