Has it really been that long?!......

Hello friends!
Wow, what a hectic month and it's not slowing down for another two and half.  For those of you that know me personally, know that my Husband had knee surgery on Sept 5th.  He is recovering nicely and went from crutches to his "I'm gonna get you stick", (cane) and is hobbling around quiet a bit faster.  HA, I'm evil.  My Momma flew to Hawaii all the way from Texas and spent a wonderful six days with us.  The timing was  a bit off with my Husband's surgery and all, but I wouldn't have had traded the time I did get to spend with her, not even for a million dollars.... maybe a billion... bahahahaha!  She got to see North Shore, Fort Shafter, USS Arizona, Pearl Harbor, Monoa Falls, Monoa Garden, Botanical Garden (we didn't get to see the falls there though), Bubba Gumps (nom nom) and a TON of coconut trees!  As I said, our schedule was HECTIC.  With my Husband unable to ride his motorcycle, much less drive a car, I was his chaperon.  Getting up early to take him to appointments, work, taking my oldest to school, picking him up from school, then turning around picking up my handsome soldier from work.  So I was just happy to get some time in with my Momma.  Now fast forward a bit, my Husband still can not drive and my oldest is out for "Fall Break", then the following week he will be getting out at 12:30 everyday for almost two weeks... eeek, it's going to be rough, but we are going to pull through.  My poor craft room has been so neglected!  I did manage to get in there to make two items!!!  A double sided pocket treat holder:

I've been ordering my supplies through a couple new places now and I'm addicted to them that I have to share with you as the prices are unbelievably affordable for our hobby! First one is from Unity, the Stamp of the Week. Unfortunately it will be a bit before it can be purchased, but don't fret, you can sign up for Stamp of the Week any time and start getting a brand new stamp EVERY week!  By the way keep reading as I have some details regarding World Card Making Day contest that Unity is having below...

The paper and buttons I purchased through PeachyCheap.com, the papers I used are from two separate purchases I made.  The kraft card stock with white polka dots comes from My Minds Eye "Haunted" and the tag insert, I used My Minds Eye Follow Your Heart "Be Happy".  The Buttons also purchased through PeachyCheap.com is from Fancy Pants "off to school".  PeachyCheap.com is great as EVERY day there is a new deal to be snatched up.  The ONLY down fall is that once it is sold out... that's it, but they do put up another deal if the current deal sells out super fast (it has happened).  Also the deal is only available for 24 hours so if the new deal is out, there is no going back, so my word of advice... if you like it... BUY IT!  My ink, I purchased through Blitsy, I love their prices and sales!  Currently they have many sales going on and I am ON IT like white on rice...

I also made this super cute Thank You card for a new found friend that has further enabled my cardstock addiction.  I met her on Face Book on the group page "Scrapbook Hoarders Anonymous", where many people gather to sell and buy their goodies!  The cardstock with the flowers is from We R Memory Keepers: Urban Window Collection "Homemade Needle Point".  If you go to A Cherry On Top, you will see that it is .70 a sheet, I paid .50 via the FB page!!!  It is a "private" group so just request to be added, it's that EASY!

WORLD CARD MAKING DAY

.... have you heard?!  World Card Making Day is in TWO DAYS!!!  There are so many contests going on!  Paper Crafts Magazine is having an awesome contest!  There are going to be a total of 20, yes TWENTY winners!  Four from each category to win this prize pack....

I am so excited about this as not only am I going to be entering this delectable contest but my cards that are sent in will not be returned to me, but are going to be sent to Operation Write Home.  I love this!  Being a military wife, I know the heartache of being separated from my Husband when he is deployed.  It is so great receiving a letter and a card from him letting us know that he is thinking of us.  Operation Write Home takes donations of home made cards to send over seas to the service men and women for them to use to send home.  There are some guidelines when sending cards to be donated and that all can be found here.  I am also joining in on the blog tour so be sure to show me some love and visit me and everyone else!

I am taking advantage of this day by not only entering contests, but I will be making cards to take to Triplers Army Medical Center's Fisher House.  These homes are special to any Military affiliated member, active, guard, reserve or even retired that are receiving medical attention.  It is completely FREE to the member and the family to stay at and feel like home during a time of need such as illness and or injury.

Unity is also having a contest!  Every hour on the hour Saturday October 6th starting at 10AM CST!  Unity will be giving away $1000 worth of prizes!  I can't wait to participate in that!  It has been so long since I have posted on my blog and or entered a contest, so I think it's high time that I do, don't you think?!

Well, I have caught everyone up on my plans so I think it's best I get started eh?!.... Thank you for following me and being patient!
